Overview
What DOT BAT is
DOT breath alcohol testing measures breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) for employees in safety-sensitive, federally regulated roles.
Testing is performed by a qualified Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) on an evidential breath testing device, documented on DOT forms.
An initial screening test is performed first. If the result is 0.02 or higher, a confirmation test is performed on an evidential breath testing device after a 15-minute waiting period.
