Before Your Drug Test: Rules and Requirements

Do:

  • Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. We cannot test you without it.
  • Bring any paperwork from your employer, agency or court, including a chain-of-custody form if you were given one.
  • Arrive on time and plan to stay until the collection is complete.
  • Drink normally before your test.
  • Tell the collector about any medications you take. You will report prescriptions to the medical review officer, not to us.

Do not:

  • Do not drink excessive water or fluids before your test. Over-diluted samples may need to be retested.
  • Do not bring or use any product meant to alter a specimen. Tampering, substituting or adulterating a specimen is treated as a refusal to test.
  • Do not leave the collection site once your test has started. For DOT tests, leaving before the test is complete is a refusal to test.
  • Do not bring bags, coats or personal items into the collection area. You will be asked to empty your pockets and wash your hands.
  • Hair tests: do not cut, shave or chemically treat the collection area before your appointment.
  • Oral fluid tests: do not eat, drink, smoke or chew gum for 10 minutes before collection.
  • Breath alcohol tests: do not eat, drink, smoke or use mouthwash or breath spray for 15 minutes before your test.

Good to know:

  • Some collections must be directly observed under federal rules or your employer's policy.
  • If you cannot provide enough urine, you may be asked to stay for up to 3 hours and drink a limited amount of fluid.
  • Refusing any part of the process may be reported to the party that ordered your test.

Yes. All services are by appointment only. Our hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We are closed Sunday.

Yes. We offer DOT and non-DOT drug testing.

How fast are results?

Rapid tests give same day, immediate results. All other drug tests return results in 3 to 5 business days.

Can you come to us?

Yes. Mobile collection is available at a home, workplace or approved location. A travel fee applies.
